Nuxtjs Fundamentals: Introduction

Nuxtjs Fundamentals: Introduction

Hey devs, welcome to the Nuxtjs Fundamentals series where the goal is to equip you with the skills necessary to build awesome stuff with nuxt. Before we dive in though, allow me to briefly introduce myself, talk about the prerequisites and objectives.

My name is Carl Handy, I'm a frontend engineer and ux designer by day, poet and digital artist by night. I'm also a project periwinkle ambassador (consider donating) and LACNIC member. Throughout my career I've led design and development teams on projects ranging from corporate websites to enterprise grade web applications. I'm currently the "tech demon", as the girls put it, behind theKeepers initiative.

I'll try to be as clear as possible when writing but if there's any part that's fuzzy or you think needs improvement, please leave a comment. This will be a project based guide, so you'll follow along with code and at the end of it have something to add to your portfolio 🌝

I'm writing this with the assumption that those reading have never worked with Nuxt before but has:

  • Basic understanding of git
  • Fair knowledge of Vue.js
  • Willingness to learn

Learning Objectives

By the end of this you should understand:

  • What Nuxt is & why you should be using it.
  • How to build and deploy a static site.
  • State Management
  • Authentication

New parts to this series will be updated every Thursday so be sure to subscribe to get the updates.
